Consider Martha, a woman saved from the brink of despair, thanks to you.
Martha’s life was happy. Her days were busy and full, and she loved her work capturing other people’s happy moments through her job at a photography studio. She was even preparing for her own happy day after getting engaged. Then, suddenly, her world unraveled.
Within a matter of weeks, she lost her father. And then her fiancé.
She was stunned. The shock of it all caused her to plummet into deep despair. She stopped going to her job. She stopped paying her bills. She all but stopped living.
Who knows what might have become of Martha if someone hadn’t led her to one of our churches, where she received counseling, spiritual support, and help to get her life and her finances back on track.
Martha was so inspired by the kindness she received and the loving God she encountered that she felt called to give back as a volunteer at the Olive Branch Social Service office.
But that’s not all! Martha also felt a powerful call to join the Catholic Church. She has enrolled in RCIA classes and now prays the Rosary daily.
After being rescued from the depths of despair by friends like you who carry Christ’s love and healing, Martha has emerged as a powerful witness to the mercy of the Sacred Heart.
I could tell you so many more stories like these stories of people who have been given help and hope, whose lives have been utterly transformed because of your kindness. But these aren’t the folks I’m worried about. These stories aren’t the reason I’m writing you today.
