Be Your Brother's Keeper

Jerome is 12 years old. Like many big brothers, his little brother sometimes gets on his nerves. True, little Tyrone tags along everywhere. True, Jerome has to tie his shoes, tuck his shirt, hold his hand (his least favorite). While he always rolls his eyes and resists when his mother insists he do these things, no matter how irritating, Jerome would do anything for his little brother.

He’d do anything to share some food with Tyrone this Thanksgiving. Unfortunately Jerome’s family, like so many others in our area, is struggling just to put food on the table on a daily basis. With your help this Thanksgiving they can. Every year at this time Food Pantries at Sacred Heart Southern Missions social service offices located throughout northern Mississippi distribute food to hundreds of hungry men, women and children thanks to your generosity. To make sure this happens again, please consider supporting the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Your gift will help raise $6,500 by November 23, to ensure there will be enough food to feed the hungry in north Mississippi at Thanksgiving. For $26 you can sponsor a food basket for a family like Jerome’s.

When you think of Thanksgiving, what comes to mind? Sweet potatoes and cinnamon spring to mind for some. Others think of pumpkin pie. Some travel thousands of miles to return home for a taste of their family’s time-honored recipe for dressing perfected for generations. This Thanksgiving, think of Jerome’s family. When you thank God for your blessings, share some with Jerome’s family. Click Donate Now and give in honor of his little brother and him. Thank you for all you do. Happy Thanksgiving.
