Sacred Heart Auto League

For over 55 years the Sacred Heart Auto League has promoted prayerful careful driving as a means of living out Jesus’ call to love our neighbor and as way of turning a daily, ordinary task into a time of grace and prayer. The inspiration behind the Sacred Heart Auto League is to bring into our cars and onto our highways the same personal awareness of God’s love and presence that the Sacred Heart holds out to us in all other aspects of our lives.

Founded by Fr. Gregory Bezy the Sacred Heart Auto League began at a time when our national highway system and car ownership were on the rise. The Auto League still thrives today as members take a prayerful careful attitude to combat the dangers of inattentive driving and road rage. One of our longtime members perfectly summed up the spirit of the Auto League recently when she said, “Even if I’m just heading to the grocery store I pray for the safety of all Auto League members on the road. I pray I do no harm to others and that no one harms me.”

There is no membership fee to join this spiritual association but any gift you can make goes to support the vital ministries of the Sacred Heart Southern Missions in northern Mississippi. As a member, you will continue to share in the blessing of the Mass that is offered each day for all that have promised to be prayerful careful drivers out of love for the Sacred Heart.
