As Catholics, we know well the value of prayer for each other. And that is why this St. Valentine’s Day, I am giving you an opportunity to give a special gift of prayer to those you love. Beginning on February 14, the feast of St. Valentine, we will celebrate a special novena of Masses dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
 It is through the heart of Jesus that God reveals his profound and never-ending love for us. Through the heart of Jesus, God reminds us that he holds us near his heart and desires to be part of our lives. And so, for nine consecutive days, we will pray for you, your family and your friends that all of you receive the special graces and blessings to be more aware and more convinced of God’s loving presence in your lives.
St. John reminds us: Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God. God loves us. In response to God’s love, we love God and one another. Use the link below to enroll your friends and family members in the St. Valentine Novena.
Each day throughout the year, you and other faithful friends of Sacred Heart Southern Missions show our love for our sisters and brothers in need – not through cards, flowers and chocolates – but through food, clothing, shelter, education and pastoral care!
These are women, men and children who struggle every day to get by. They never had much. The present economy and our high unemployment have made life even more difficult for them. Daily, the number of women and men asking for assistance for their families increases.
There is no charge to enroll your family and friends in our St. Valentine’s novena of Masses. But if you are able to make a gift at this time, you will help a family in need of food, clothing, shelter and other basics. Your sacrifice will help a wife, husband, single parent or child experience God’s compassionate love and mercy. And you will be blessed. Thank you for all you have done in the past for those in need.
