"Follow Where the Leaves Fall"

Joan from Florida has been a supporter of Sacred Heart Southern Missions for many years. But she didn’t come to this path all on her own. Her mother too helped with our work and that made a big impression on Joan, “You have to follow where the leaves fall”, is how she describes it.

Joan has set up a rather unique method of both honoring her mom’s past giving and supporting our work. She has made her estate plans and included in them the provision that after her death her house is to be sold all and the proceeds are to be donated to Sacred Heart Southern Missions. When Joan was asked what was her motivation to do this her answer was as brief as it was powerful, “prayer”.

Like many of our friends Joan is impressed by the fact that so much of our work is done on behalf of the poor. She is aware of the dire conditions of many of the parts of Mississippi where we serve. “I feel I have to give where it is needed most”, is how she sums up her plans.
Perhaps you have some unique assets that, although you need them now, could assist our work in the future? Whatever the case it’s vital to have a plan for where and who you want to receive the valuable items you spent a lifetime building up. As Joan wisely says, “You have to have a plan for where you want to be.”
