Kathy's Legacy
Kathy from Texas has more familiarity with Sacred Heart Southern Missions than many of our friends. Kathy grew up in Jackson, MS and her mother worked for the bishop there. So from an early age she heard stories of the great work done by Sacred Heart Southern Missions. While her adult life has taken her away from Mississippi she has never lost the deep connection she feels toward the state and especially for those trying to make life here better. She has a heart for the poor and is committed to helping those less fortunate. As she often says, “It’s not my money. It’s God’s!”
Kathy lives out the gospel call to service in many ways. She is a monthly donor and her Angel of the Heart gift is very important to her. She recently honored our work by telling us that she has also remembered Sacred Heart Southern Missions in her estate plans. Fortunately we have been able to help Kathy as well. She is involved in a very active hospital ministry and we often send her crucifixes and prayer books to distribute to the patients. “The people just love them.”
Remember, if you do not have a detailed will the state where you live has one for you. You may not like how the government decides to allocate the assets you spent a lifetime accumulating. In addition, without a will special gifts to friends, family members and beloved charities are not likely to happen.
