Has the shop ever been this clean?

Delta State’s Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity held a “brotherhood retreat” over the weekend at the Walls Volunteer House. No strangers to us, the Pikes have volunteered with Sacred Heart Southern Missions on numerous occasions over the past 18 months.

The group of 16 young men worked all day Saturday at the SHSM Facilities Shop and Warehouse. The Pikes cleaned and organized both areas so that space could be allocated for sorting and staging the various batches of shingles donated by Home Depot.

The SHSM Volunteer Program currently has approximately 30 roofing projects pending. With so many needing this type of repair work, it is our hope that much of the donated roofing material can be used for these clients.

Volunteer Coordinator Kelly Tartt said, “The Pike’s help this weekend was instrumental in us being able to start planning these projects.”
