The situation here in Sacred Heart Southern Missions changes daily as the coronavirus impacts our country. We are grateful that, with your help, we were able to recently obtain pallets of fresh fruits and vegetables, potatoes and eggs for our food pantry. What a blessing these were for the elderly and disabled poor who received them. There was joy and relief on their faces—and some tears. Everyone echoed the same sentiments, “I was afraid to go to the store.” “The shelves were all empty.” “Bless you.” “Thank you.” In just a matter of a few hours, all this food was gone.
In the days and weeks ahead, mothers, fathers, the elderly, the sick and disabled poor will continue to come to our food pantries seeking the food they cannot afford on their meager incomes. Your generous donation will help us provide the necessary food.
